Complete Course in Image ID Visagism
(Remote Learning
The Image ID EAD Visagism Course is entirely recorded in video lessons, using the experience in remote education acquired when Philip Hallawell conceived, wrote, and presented the series À Mão Livre - a linguagem do desenho, one of TV Cultura's biggest educational successes.
What is Image ID Visagism?
Image ID Visagism is the art of creating personal images that communicate the best of people’s personality and are suited to their activities, lifestyles, and their personal and professional needs.
Philip Hallawell established the concept of Visagism in the world's first book on the subject, published in 2003, and was the first person in the world to create a method based on visual language, image psychology and his Image ID Theory, which he created over 30 years, starting with his realization that every image is composed of archetypal symbols and therefore establishes a visual identity, in 1971.
He created an innovative and unprecedented method of facial analysis, based on the analysis of archetypal symbols in the lines and shapes of the face, and was the first to use facial analysis in an image consultancy, establishing the now famous question, "What do you want to express?". He was also the first to analyse temperament, to introduce the teaching of visual language in the field of beauty and the teaching of the creative process.

What are the benefits of Image ID Visagism?

Image ID Visagism provides a unique and unforgettable experience for a person who undergoes a complete consultation and image adjustment.
At the end of this process, when the person looks in the mirror, the encounter in the mirror takes place. It is a magical moment when their outer image, their new visual identity, meets their sense of identity, their inner image. It is the recognition of who you are in the reflection of the mirror.
The consultation itself, with facial analysis and temperament analysis, is exciting and, for many, highly revealing. Consulting is not therapy, but it can be highly therapeutic. Many clients have never experienced such a deep process of reflection.
It is a quite unique experience to anything they have been through in other consultations. They feel safe and confident that knowledgeable professionals are assisting them.
This is reflected in the elevated level of satisfaction of Image ID Visagistas' clients and, consequently, in high loyalty rates.
In addition, satisfied clients refer the professionals' services to other people, generating new clients.
Loyalty and referrals increase the value of the professionals and their services. All this generates a significant increase in turnover.
But the greatest benefit for the professional is the daily experience of professional fulfilment, in a continuous process of exercising creativity and in the absence of routine.
What is the structure of the course?
The lessons are short, to ensure that your concentration is maintained, and the pace and style are ideal for learning. You can pause or rewind the lessons for reflection, or to investigate the hundreds of illustrations, or you can review the whole course numerous times over the course of a year. Repetition is necessary for learning and retaining new information and concepts.
The course is organized in eight modules, with a test at the end of each, which releases the next module.
- Module 1: The concept and scientific basis of Image ID Theory and Visagism. The association of visual language with the theory of archetypal symbols, the emotional brain and other concepts from psychology, anthropology, neuroscience, philosophy, and sociology.
- Module 2: The Psychology of Image - the concept of personal image identity, the emotional effect of image, the concept of beauty, style, temperament, personality, personas and belonging.
- Module 3: Visual Language I - the principles and fundamentals of visual perception. Balance and visual harmony, the golden ratio, and the dynamics of lines.
- Module 4: Visual Language II and Facial Analysis: proportion and the conception of spaces and the meanings of lines and shapes. Drawing the face and body.
- Module 5: Visual Language III: theory and use of colour, colour harmony, skin tone analysis and personal colouring.
- Module 6: Visual Language IV: light and shadow and the creation of volume and planes in an image.
- Module 7: The Consultancy: how to conduct a consultancy to determine what the client wants to express and the analysis of the teeth.
- Module 8: Creativity: how the creative process works and how to use visual language to create a personal image that expresses the client's intention and create a personal style.
In each module there is a forum where students can ask questions to clear up doubts. There is an exclusive Facebook group where you can ask questions and ask for help with facial analysis and ask for evaluations of work done using the Image ID concept. This group is permanent and includes all the students from all the classes, both face-to-face and distance learning, and contains hundreds of analyses, commented, and corrected by Prof. Philip.
After four years, the course has generated thousands of questions, all answered by Philip. There were also 60 livestreams, lasting over 80 hours, in which Philip clarified students' doubts. All this wealth of content will now be available to students in the forums immediately, where they will certainly find the answers to any questions.
On Facebook, there is an exclusive group for students where, over 14 years, Philip has commented on and corrected around a thousand facial analyses sent in by students. There's no better place to practise facial analysis, perhaps the biggest challenge for the Visagism student. We recommend that students join the group, choose a face to analyse and then see the analysis made by the person who posted the photo and, finally, Philip's corrections and comments. In this way, any student will know whether they are getting the analyses right and why, and gradually gain confidence that they have mastered the whole process.
At the end of the course, there is a final exam. Students need to get at least fourteen out of twenty questions right to pass and receive their certificate.
How much is the investment?

There are two investments that each student will have to make to obtain the results.
The first is in the course itself.
The second is after the course, when you apply the method. Every change requires a period of adaptation and applying Philip Hallawell Visagism requires a radical change in the way you attend to your client.
You'll have to spend more time with your client to consult, listen to them, and find out what they want to express. Then you'll have to adjust the number of people you can attend, especially on busy days. You'll soon see that this will pay off handsomely in terms of loyalty, the rate of recommendations and the appreciation of your service.
You can pay for the course in instalments only if you have a credit card issued in Brazil.
