WHO AM I
In 1971, I formed an association that began a series of research that transformed the understanding of visual language and visual perception and that explains why images have a strong emotional impact. I was the first and only person to understand the relationship between archetypal symbols and the structures of all images. Every image is essentially a composition of points of light, which we understand as lines, shapes and colors and these elements are archetypal symbols, with universal meanings.
I used this knowledge in creating my work as a visual artist and as an arts educator. The theory was publicly presented in the TV Cultura series and in the book of the same name Mão Livre – the language of drawing, in 1994, and the Image ID Theory was the basis for the creation of the Philip Hallawell Visagismo method, in 2003, which transformed the area of beauty.
